JBL Boombox Charging Time

You charge JBL Boombox power bank speakers conveniently via their hidden DC input barrel connector style charge ports. And to get the shortest JBL Boombox charging time and fullest charge when the Boombox goes dead, be sure to use the adapter that comes with the speaker, or a suitable equivalent.

JBL Boombox Charging Time: How Long to Fully Charge

JBL Boombox Charging Time: How Long it Plays Per Single Charge

On a full charge, the JBL Boombox speaker can play for up to twenty-four (24) hours from a full recharge, due to its 20,000 MaH, lithium ion polymer battery.  But when you play it with extra umph, you will see markedly shorter charge holding time.  We’ve seen this speaker run dead in around twenty hours when run at party level volumes. So to get the most charge time from it, power conservation is crucial.  Thus, only play it as loudly as you must.

The Charging Time Shortens Over Time

If you own this speaker over a year’s period, you may notice that the time it plays from a single charge drops as the unit ages.  This is normal for devices like the JBL Boombox,  that rely on lithium ion polymer batteries.

But by exercising the battery, you can slow this capacity falloff.  To work out the battery, run it dead and then charge it again every three to six months when not in use.

We also suggest that you keep the speaker out of the sun and in a cool, dry place.  Moreover, do not leave your Boombox plugged into a charger once it is fully charged.  Once the charging lamps completely go out, disconnect the speaker right away to avoid overcharging and battery damage.

And finally, do not allow the speaker to sit around for months on end with the battery completely drained, as this can also shorten its life. Make sure it always has at least half-full charge if storing for any length of time.
