JBL Charge 4 Bass Mode

Adjust the bass response of this speaker by turning on and off JBL Charge 4 bass mode mode. Thus, when ON, bass mode makes the passive radiators vibrate a lot more.  Further, this mode adds a decidedly “thumpy” quality to the content playing. This makes this speaker sound much bigger than it really is. However, if you want to conserve battery power, we suggest turning off this mode.  Less bass can significantly increase play time per charge.

JBL Charge 4 Bass Mode: How to Turn OFF

First off, by default, this BT speaker has bass mode ON already.  Furthermore, this adds a bit of extra treble and lots of extra bass to the audio output. It indeed sounds louder overall when bass mode is active.

Furthermore, to disable bass mode, press the Volume Down and Bluetooth buttons. Hold them until the oval button ring lights up. Then release them. The sound should decrease in volume and have notably less bass.

JBL Charge 4 Bass Mode: Switching it ON

Switch bass mode ON by pressing the Volume Down (-) and Bluetooth buttons. Hold for about ten seconds. Then release when all lights on the top light up.

Moreover, you keep holding them until the oval ring around the buttons lights up. Note that the 4 does not make a noise when it changes in and out of bass mode.

Finally, when the ring goes off, bass mode is active once again.
