An adequate JBL Charge 5 speaker charger supplies enough power to fully recharge this speaker in 4 hours. But currently, JBL does not include a USB charger with this speaker. So, you’ll need to either have one already or buy one.
Also, the speaker has a USB-C charging port. So have the right cable on hand, to connect to whatever charger you choose. Details follow.
Furthermore, the maximum current this speaker accepts is 3 amps, which gives the speediest charging performance. So to get that, be sure to use a USB-C charger. So, use a USB-C to USB-C cord. Or if you have a charger with a QC 3.0 USB-A port, then use a thicker USB-A to USB-C cable.
Which JBL Charge 5 Speaker Charger Works Best?
We’ve successfully charged our Charge 5 speaker with the AC adapters we list below. Note that some of these feature a USB A type female connector. So, you can use these chargers with the USB-C to USB-A cord that accompanies the speaker. Or, if your charger only has a USB-C output port, then you need a USB-C to USB-C cable.

This group of chargers can recharge the speaker at the maximum 15 watts rate. Plus none of these is too expensive. But for most of them, you will need a USB-C to USB-C cable to connect each charger to the speaker.

USB-A Chargers that Also Work Well with the JBL Charge 5 Speaker

This hefty household wall charging station delivers all the current you need for charging your speaker. It delivers full USB 2 power on each and every one of its ten output ports. This means that you will not increase the speaker charging time when you charge more than one device on it. In fact, this charging station supplies enough juice for older JBL speaker models. But since each port only delivers 2.4 amps, you won’t get the fastest charging time from this particular power station. But you can still charge the Charge 5 in under 8 hours with this.
2. CE Tech 4 Port USB Wall Charger
This CE Tech charging station is another beefy unit. It suits well for recharging most JBL Charge speakers quickly. This USB power hub appears sometimes on eBay for under thirty US dollars. We also review this quad port charging system here.
3. GE Jasco Y14 11307 USB AC Charger
This charger is sometimes available at Amazon.com. At less than twelve dollars, this dual port AC USB wall adapter is small enough for easy travel. 4. JBL Charger for the Charge 5 BT Speaker
