How to Pair Sony SRS XE300

Shows how to pair the Sony SRS XE300 wireless column speaker to common portable devices. So these  include the Apple line of devices like the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad. Plus, a similar procedure also works for Android based devices as well. So these include Samsung and LG phones, as well as Amazon Fire tablets.

How to Pair Sony SRS XE300: Step by Step

With your SRS XE300 OFF with the power button dark), run through these directions to pair it to your source device. We use here an iPad Air tablet  for this demo.

1. Go to the Home Screen on your Source Device

Firstly, press the Home button to reveal the smart device’s Home screen.

2. Find the Settings App

So we find ours on the second page of the Home screen.

3. Bring up the Settings App

Thirdly, touch the Settings app icon.

The smart device then shows the first page of its settings.





4. Go to the Bluetooth Settings  Page to Continue with How to Pair Sony SRS XE300 

So our Bluetooth Settings screen displays as follows. Note that our Bluetooth is ON here. But our Sony SRS XE300 is currently OFF. Thus it cannot be in Bluetooth discovery mode. So it does not show up in the Bluetooth devices list. Also, we don’t see it since we’ve never paired it with this tablet before.

5. Turn On your Sony SRX XE300

Then turn on the speaker by quickly pressing its  Power-Pairing  button.

The unit then powers up, and its Power-Pairing button glows white.

But since our tablet does not know about this speaker, the SRS XE300 will not pair with it automatically.

6. Put the XE300 in Pairing Mode

So to see your XE300 on your device, place it into Bluetooth discovery / pairing mode. Thus to accomplish that, press and hold the Pairing button.  Then release when you hear the rising pitch beep sequence. Plus the speaker announces, “Bluetooth pairing,” in a lady’s voice. Find the Pairing button in the buttons panel, second one down from the top, just below the Power button.

Also, the Bluetooth Status lamp begins flashing blue at this point, in the pulse-pulse-pause-pulse-pulse-pause pattern.

7. Find the Speaker on your Mobile Device to Continue with How to Pair Sony SRS XE300

So we find our XE300 as follows.

8. Now Pair with the XE 200

Then tap the listed speaker in the Other Devices list.

Your source device then pairs with it.

Then the the mobile device’s Bluetooth Settings screen might then change to look something like the following.  Note the now-connected SRS XE300 entry.

9. Done with How to Pair Sony SRS XE300 !

At last, we have now successfully paired the XE300 BT speaker with with a common mobile tablet device.
