How to Connect JBL Flip 6: Step by Step
With this speaker powered OFF, run through this routine to connect it to your mobile device.
1. Navigate to the Home Screen on your Mobile Device
Firstly, press the Home button to bring up the mobile iOS device’s Home screen. Shown next.
2. Find the Settings App
Then we find ours on the second page of an iPad home screen.
3. Bring up the Settings App
Tap the Settings app icon.
The mobile device then displays the first page of its settings.

Then the Bluetooth settings page displays, similar to the following.
Note that our Bluetooth is ON here. But since JBL speaker is currently OFF, it does not appear in the Bluetooth devices list. Also, we don’t see it since we’ve never connected this speaker with the iPad Air before.
5. Turn On your JBL Flip 6
Turn on this speaker by quickly pressing its Power button.
The speaker then powers up.
But since the iPad does not know about this speaker, it will not connect with it automatically. So the light in the Pairing button denotes this not-connected state by slow flashing or staying dark.
6. Put your JBL Flip 6 in Discovery Mode
Then to see your Flip 6 on your device, place it into discovery mode. So to do that, press and release the Bluetooth button.
When you press the Bluetooth button, the speaker plays a repeating single pluck guitar note. Also, the Bluetooth button begins fast flashing white.

So tap the speaker entry in the Other Devices section of the Bluetooth devices list.
