Echo Dot Reset Button, Where Is It

Where is the Echo Dot reset button?  Well, the answer depends on which Dot you’re asking about.

Gen 1 Echo Dot Reset Button Location

Firstly, on the 1st generation Echo Dot, find this button on the under side (the bottom) of the unit.  Specifically, the Amazon page Reset Your Amazon Echo or Echo Dot (1st Generation) says that the reset button on this version of the Echo Dot is at its base.   Then, see our post How to Reset Echo Dot 1st Generation to Factory Default for more details.





Gen 2 Reset Button Location

On the second generation Echo Dot, there is no separate button for resetting the speaker.  Instead, the Mic Off and Volume Down (-) buttons on the top of the unit are pressed and held down at the same time to initiate a factory default reset.  See these in the following picture.  Finally, see our How to Reset Echo Dot 2nd Gen to Factory Default for more details on resetting this Dot Echo.

Echo Dot Gen 3 Reset Button Location

On the 3rd generation Echo Dot, again, we find no separate button for resetting.  Rather, the  Action button on the top of the unit also acts as the  Reset button.   See this button location in the following picture.  At last, check our  Reset Echo Dot 3rd Generation to Factory Default Settings  post for more details.
