Shows how to hard reset JBL Flip 6 speaker to return it to default hard settings.  Hard resetting erases any prior paired Bluetooth devices from its memory.  Deleting these stops it from connecting to any nearby Bluetooth devices after the hard reset.  Also, do this to get it ready for sale or re gifting, or to fix pairing issues.  Or, just do it to stop the 6 from linking with devices you no longer have any interest in.

Here, since we’ve paired this speaker with Bluetooth devices before this, it does not enter Bluetooth pairing mode.  In fact, it connects with an iPad Air that we have nearby.  We know that because the Bluetooth button glows a steady white, rather than fast blinking.

2. Wait for the Power Up Sound

The speaker makes a rising rock guitar strum when it comes on. It is then ready for use.

3. Press the Volume UP and Play-Pause Buttons Together to Start the Hard Reset

Then after a brief pause, the unit shuts off.  All the lights go out, and it makes the power-down guitar sound.

4. Check that Hard Reset Worked

Next, power on the 6 again, as detailed in step 1 above.

Now, the 6 comes up in pairing mode. Note that the Bluetooth button blinks white to denote this.  When this button flashes, this means that the unit has no pairing.  Indeed, we expect it not to auto pair to anything after a hard reset.
