The JBL Flip 6 has several buttons across its top and side panels, and one is the Connect button. We explain the function of this button here. We detail what it does, and how to use it.
In summary, this control lets you join from two to over a hundred PartyBoost compatible speakers together. This way, they all play the same audio. Therefore, you can fill a much bigger party area with sound than you can with just one speaker. Further, you may place them as far apart as is typical for Bluetooth distances. So the area that Connect can cover is large enough for most common house parties.

Use the Connect button to connect two or more JBL PartyBoost compatible speakers together, in “party mode”. Thus, when synced in this way, they all play the same stream without any echoes or delays. PartyBoost mode is like Amazon’s multi room music groups on Alexa speakers. That is, all speakers that join in play the same audio, in sync with each other.
Then, with each speaker running, press the Connect button on each one you’re adding to the group.
The Connect button resembles an infinity symbol. Thus its name.

Note that you can mix and match any combination of JBL speakers in this group. They only requirement is that they all support the PartyBoost protocol. This is not much of a problem though. Indeed the latest speakers in the Flip, Charge, Xtreme, and Boombox lines work in PartyBoost mode.

- Place all speakers within a few feet of each other.
- Power up and pair the first (master) speaker to your Bluetooth source device.
- Next, power up each additional (slave) BT speaker that you wish to join with the master.
- Press and release the Connect button on the master speaker. The oval ring around the buttons on Flip 6 speakers should then light up.
- Then press and release the Connect button on each slave speaker in turn. Again, this button or oval ring will illuminate on each speaker, depending on speaker model.
- Now when you play something on your Bluetooth source device, you will hear it on all linked speakers.
- Finally, you can end the connection between the speakers by pressing and releasing the Connect button on the “master” speaker. You can also, without terminating the entire group, remove one or more slave speakers from it if you so desire. Do this by simply turning off the speaker you wish to take out of the group.
